Big-D SWPPP

HIRING BIG-D IS NOT HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH.

News flash: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for monitoring our nation’s Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP).

The EPA’s mission for SWPPP is to, “Protect, maintain and enhance the quality of surface and underground waters for appropriate beneficial uses and to protect the public health through eliminating and preventing water related health hazards which can occur as a result of improper disposal of human, animal or industrial wastes while giving reasonable consideration to the economic impact.”

We take their mission very seriously.

We all live downstream, as the saying goes. In fact, Big-D’s own SWPPP mission statement is a serious corollary to the previous paragraph. It reads: “Big-D will comply with the EPA’s SWPPP mission statement to the best of our ability, and educate our project teams about the environmental and economic impact potential in an effort to protect Big-D’s interests and the interests of our customers and subcontractors.”

Is that mere hyperbole? Not a chance. Big-D employs a full time Environmental Compliance Officer who is solely dedicated to SWPPP. Other firms include SWPPP compliance into the duties of their safety director. We believe it’s too critical of an issue not to receive dedicated attention. And we bet you’ll agree.
